Between = Only 2 people or things
Among = 3 or more people or things

যখন শুধু ২টা জিনিস/মানুষ/group থাকবে, তখন between ব্যবহার করব।

Example #1
The four teammates couldn't agree among / between themselves on who should take the penalty kick, so the coach had to make the final decision.
✅ Since there are four teammates, among is correct.
চার জন দলের সদস্য নিজেদের মধ্যে একমত হতে পারছিল না যে কে পেনাল্টি কিক নেবে, তাই কোচকে চূড়ান্ত সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে হলো।
কেন tricky?
বাক্যে চারজনের নাম আলাদা করে বলা নেই। শুধু বলা আছে "four teammates"। অনেকে"four" শব্দটা খেয়াল করে না এবং ভুল করে।

কেন tricky?
"Government" এবং "opposition party" - এই দুটো শব্দ শুনতে অনেক বড় এবং গুরুত্বপূর্ণ মনে হয়। অনেক ছাত্র ভাবে এটা একটা বড় বিষয় তাই "among" বসাতে হবে। কিন্তু আসলে এখানে মাত্র ২টা group আছে।
government (১) + opposition party (২) = মোট ২টা group → ২ = ২ → তাই BETWEEN

The secret agreement was made among / between the two rival companies during the meeting, though none of their hundreds of employees knew about it.

মিটিং চলাকালীন দুটো প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী কোম্পানির মধ্যে গোপন চুক্তি হয়েছিল, যদিও তাদের শত শত কর্মীদের কেউই এটা জানত না।
কেন tricky?
এই বাক্যে "hundreds of employees" দেখে অনেক ছাত্র ভাবে অনেক মানুষ আছে তাই "among" বসাতে হবে। কিন্তু সাবধান! চুক্তিটা কর্মীদের মধ্যে হয়নি। চুক্তিটা হয়েছে দুটো কোম্পানির মধ্যে। তাই গুনতে হবে কোম্পানির সংখ্যা, কর্মীদের সংখ্যা নয়!
