๐ง This item occurred 4 times (based on available data) in the IBA DU exam: IBA DU BBA 2014-2015, 2016-17, 2020-21, and MBA June 2017.
๐ What is a Cloze Test?
A Cloze Test is a type of language assessment where words are removed from a passage at regular intervals, and you are required to fill in the blanks using context clues.
๐ Pattern of the Questions
Type: Vocabulary-in-Context (Cloze Test)
Format:
A sentence or short passage with one or more blanks.
A list of 4โ5 given words/phrases, from which only one correct word is to be filled per blank.
Each word is used only once.
Skills Tested:
Vocabulary Knowledge: Understanding of nuanced word meanings (e.g., "delude" vs. "insinuate").
Grammar and Sentence Structure: Picking the word that fits syntactically and semantically.
Critical Reading: Ability to understand tone, implication, and logical flow of a sentence.
Contextual Judgment: Choosing the most contextually appropriate word, not just dictionary meaning.

Instructions: Choose the most appropriate word marked (A) to (E) to fill in the blank in each sentence. All the words are given in their basic form (e.g. for the word: DELUDE, the blank may be filled with deluding, deluded; etc.) You are allowed to use a word ONLY ONCE.
