Story
Alexander the Great crossed the Khyber Pass into India and reached the Punjab plains, where the brave King Porus came forward to defend his land. A fierce battle took place near the Jhelum River. Despite a brave fight, King Porus was defeated, wounded, and taken prisoner. When brought before Alexander and asked how he wished to be treated, Porus boldly replied, "Like a king." Deeply impressed by his courage and dignity, Alexander set him free, restored his kingdom, and granted him additional lands to rule as a friendly ally.

মহাবীর আলেকজান্ডার খাইবার গিরিপথ অতিক্রম করে ভারতে প্রবেশ করেন এবং পাঞ্জাবের সমভূমিতে পৌঁছান, যেখানে সাহসী রাজা পুরুষোত্তম (পুরুস) তাঁর স্বদেশ রক্ষা করতে এগিয়ে আসেন। ঝিলাম নদীর তীরে একটি তুমুল যুদ্ধ সংঘটিত হয়। বীরত্বের সাথে লড়াই করা সত্ত্বেও রাজা পুরুষোত্তম পরাজিত ও আহত হন এবং তাঁকে বন্দি করা হয়। আলেকজান্ডারের সম্মুখে হাজির করার পর যখন তাঁকে জিজ্ঞেস করা হয় যে তিনি কেমন আচরণ প্রত্যাশা করেন, পুরুষোত্তম সগর্বে উত্তর দেন, "একজন রাজার মতো।" তাঁর এই অসীম সাহসিকতা ও মর্যাদাবোধ দেখে আলেকজান্ডার গভীরভাবে মুগ্ধ হন। তিনি পুরুষোত্তম সসম্মানে মুক্তি দেন, তাঁর সিংহাসন ফিরিয়ে দেন এবং একজন মিত্র হিসেবে শাসন করার জন্য তাঁকে আরও কিছু রাজ্য উপহার দেন।
