Story
A rich man went to a farmer with a bag containing one thousand rupees. He said to him, "Look, my friend! I have brought one thousand rupees for you. Keep this money and relieve your distress." The farmer took the bag of money from the rich man and thanked him. The farmer was surprised and said to himself, "One thousand rupees is a lot of money."
He could not find a safe place to keep the bag and did not know where to hide it. Finally, he dug a hole inside his hut and buried the money there. Soon, the constant fear that his money could be stolen at any time took hold of him. This worry kept him awake, and he lost his sleep at night. He gradually realized that although he now had money, he had lost his peace of mind. As a result, he could no longer focus on his daily work.

এক ধনী ব্যক্তি এক হাজার টাকা ভর্তি একটি থলি নিয়ে এক কৃষকের কাছে গেলেন। তিনি তাকে বললেন, "দেখো বন্ধু! আমি তোমার জন্য এক হাজার টাকা নিয়ে এসেছি। এই টাকাটা রাখো এবং তোমার কষ্ট দূর করো।" কৃষকটি ধনী ব্যক্তির কাছ থেকে টাকার থলিটি নিল এবং তাঁকে ধন্যবাদ জানাল। কৃষকটি বিস্মিত হয়ে মনে মনে বলল, "এক হাজার টাকা তো অনেক টাকা!"
সে থলিটি রাখার মতো কোনো নিরাপদ জায়গা খুঁজে পাচ্ছিল না এবং টাকাটা কোথায় লুকিয়ে রাখবে তা ভেবে কুল পাচ্ছিল না। অবশেষে, সে তার কুঁড়েঘরের মেঝেতে একটি গর্ত খুঁড়ে টাকাটা সেখানে লুকিয়ে রাখল। শীঘ্রই, তার মনে এই চিন্তা গভীরভাবে চেপে বসল যে যেকোনো সময় তার টাকাটা চুরি হয়ে যেতে পারে। এই দুশ্চিন্তা তাকে জাগিয়ে রাখত এবং রাতের বেলা তার চোখের ঘুম কেড়ে নিল। সে ধীরে ধীরে বুঝতে পারল যে তার কাছে এখন টাকা আছে ঠিকই, কিন্তু মনের কোনো শান্তি নেই। ফলে, সে আর নিজের কাজে মন দিতে পারছিল না।
