Story
One day a grocer borrowed a balance and weights from a fruit-seller.
After a few days the fruit-seller asked for them back. The grocer gave a ridiculous excuse: "The mice ate away your balance and weights - so I cannot return them."
The fruit-seller was furious at this obvious lie, but he controlled his temper and said nothing - for now.
His plan came soon. One day he told the grocer: "I am going to town for shopping. Please send your son with me to carry my things." The grocer agreed and sent his son.
The fruit-seller returned from town alone without the boy.
The grocer panicked: "Where is my son?"
The fruit-seller replied calmly: "A crow carried your son away."
The grocer exploded: "You liar! How can a crow carry away such a big boy?"
The fruit-seller smiled: "The same way mice can eat away iron balance and weights."

একদিন একজন মুদিওয়ালা একজন ফলবিক্রেতার কাছ থেকে একটি দাঁড়িপাল্লা ও বাটখারা ধার নিল।
কয়েকদিন পর ফলবিক্রেতা সেগুলো ফেরত চাইল। মুদিওয়ালা এক হাস্যকর অজুহাত দিল - "ইঁদুর তোমার দাঁড়িপাল্লা আর বাটখারা খেয়ে ফেলেছে - তাই আমি সেগুলো ফেরত দিতে পারব না।"
ফলবিক্রেতা এই ডাহা মিথ্যায় রাগে ফেটে পড়ল, কিন্তু সে রাগ সংবরণ করল এবং আপাতত কিছু বলল না।
তার পরিকল্পনা শীঘ্রই এল। একদিন সে মুদিওয়ালাকে বলল - "আমি কেনাকাটার জন্য শহরে যাচ্ছি। তোমার ছেলেকে আমার সাথে পাঠাও, মালপত্র বহন করতে।" মুদিওয়ালা রাজি হল এবং ছেলেকে পাঠিয়ে দিল।
ফলবিক্রেতা শহর থেকে ফিরে এল - একা, ছেলেকে ছাড়া।
মুদিওয়ালা আতঙ্কিত হয়ে জিজ্ঞেস করল - "আমার ছেলে কোথায়?"
ফলবিক্রেতা শান্তভাবে জবাব দিল - "একটা কাক তোমার ছেলেকে নিয়ে উড়ে গেছে।"
মুদিওয়ালা রাগে ফেটে পড়ল - "মিথ্যুক কোথাকার! এত বড় ছেলেকে কাক নিয়ে যায় কীভাবে?!"
ফলবিক্রেতা মুচকি হেসে বলল - "যেভাবে ইঁদুর লোহার দাঁড়িপাল্লা আর বাটখারা খেয়ে ফেলে।"
